Trade With Action Figs & Things – Part III

Posted in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Toys with tags , , , , , , , , on October 28, 2012 by Jason

This is the third, and final part of the recent trade with Action Figs & Things.

Everything in this trade was awesome, but I saved my favorite for last.

These were 2 needed additions to my old-school TMNT collection.  My focus on the line is diverted to unique characters, with little focus on Turtle variations(there are a few exceptions).  I’ve wanted to add Splinter to the collection for a while, but I always seem to find him without his robe.  For me, the robe needs to be included, in orderr to warrant a purchase.  This remedies that situation.

Triceraton is another figure that I’ve had at the top of my list, and he even came with his blaster.  This figure was released in 1990.  But the Triceraton race actually has it’s roots in the old-school TMNT comics.  So this figure has a lot going for it.

Due to limited space at the moment, Splinter will probably be the only one of the 2 to be displayed(the M.U.S.C.L.E.s and Nemesis Enforcer will be on display as well).

Thanks again Anthony!

Trade With Action Figs & Things – Part II

Posted in Toys with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 24, 2012 by Jason

Tonight we have the 2nd part of the recent trade betweeen myself and Anthony from Action Figs & Things.

First up is a 1997 Zorro figure from Playmates Toys.  Research tells me that this would most likely be from the first Antonio Banderas as Zorro movie from 1998.  It’s got a cool little action feature where he swings his sword in his trademark style(sort of).  I’m not familiar with the movies or the line, so this guy is a pass for me.  But no worries!  One of my friends has already claimed him.

And right beside Zorro stands Nemesis Enforcer.  Nemesis Enforcer was part of a 3-pack of G.I. Joe villains who first appeared in 1987′s, G.I. Joe-The Movie.  And any old-school Joe is a welcome addition!  Unlike Transformers-The Movie, I don’t remember too much from the first G.I. Joe movie(and it’s been a really long time since I last saw it, we’re talking almost 2 decades).  But these figures for the 3 Cobra-La Figures are unforgettable.  NE here, is only missing his grey wing “back pack”, to be complete.  And from what I’ve read, it seems that Nemesis Enforcer never displayed the green tentacles that come with the figure, in the movie.  Crazy!

Part III will be up in a few days.

Trade With Action Figs & Things – Part I

A short while back, Anthony from Action Figs & Things and I made a trade.  We both knew what the majority of the trades would be, and it’s exiting to get some new items for the collection while helping out a fellow collector add to their collection.

Here’s the first part of the fantastic package Anthony put together for me.

I can always use more M.U.S.C.L.E.s for my collection!  Not only did I not have any of these 3, but this would also be my first colored figure from the line.  The last time I owned a colored M.U.S.C.L.E. was when I was a kid when the colored ones were originally released.  These are very clean and are a great addition to my slow and steady M.U.S.C.L.E. collection.  Thanks again Anthony!

I will be showing the rest of the contents from this great package in seperate posts over the next week or so.  Stay tuned!

Marvel Universe – Future Foundation Spider-Man

Posted in Comic Books, Toys with tags , , , , , , on October 8, 2012 by Jason

So, my local Wal-Mart wised up and have finally got a fairly decent toy section.  Not only do they have a plentiful stock of the new TMNT and Transformers figures, but they finally started carrying Marvel Universe figures.  And Spidey was calling out to me.

I know almost nothing about The Future Foundation, but I do know that this wardrobe choice is very appealing to the eye.  The web accessory he comes with is basically useless, as is the mini comic shot.  No more stands?!  The last Marvel Universe figure I bought before this one was Apocalypse, and he came with a stand.  That was in May of last year!  What gives?!

His posability leaves a little to be desired, but you can get him in a few decent poses.  This one was a little stiff in one of the shoulders.  Other than that, he’s a-okay.  These run close to 10 bucks, which I think is a tad too steep.  So I’m not sure if I’ll end up buying any more any time soon.  That is, as long as I don’t come across Thanos or Gray Hulk.

Yard Sale Finds #17 – I Guess I was Wrong. And a Preview of What’s Next

Posted in Video Games, Yard Sale Finds with tags , , , , , , , on October 3, 2012 by Jason

I had honestly thought that I had seen the last of this year’s yard sales when I made my last post.  I was wrong!  There were only a few that crossed my path, but they did yield a handful of video games for my collection.

What you see above ran me $3.40.  I know you’re probably thinking, “Where the hell did 40 cents come from?!”.   Here’s the deal…

I ran across Paper Mario first.  The asking price was $1.50, which is a great deal.  I had a lone single, and 40 cents in my pocket(I didn’t want to break a bigger bill because I was a dime short).  The lady running the sale said, “close enough.”, and I was on my way.

The Mickey Mouse SNES game is one I’ve never played before, and was a no-brainer at $1.  Pokemon Blue from Gameboy was also a great deal at $1.  I could probably seel it for way more money than I paid for it, but I actually enjoy playing the Gameboy Pokemon games(when Pokemon Yellow was released back in ’98-’99, it was the reason I bought a Gameboy Color).  So, a pretty small haul, but some nice additions(and all for Nintendo cystems, no less!).

And here’s a hint of what’s coming up next.
